Following a mainly dry weekend, a familiar forecast will return to South Florida for the week ahead.

A breezy pattern will unfold Monday as strong high pressure anchors across the eastern half of the United States.

This will lead to a persistent northeast wind at 15 to 20 mph, with higher gusts likely each day.

In this pattern, a high risk for rip currents will be in place for all Atlantic beaches through the week.

Occasional showers can be expected each day before the pattern dries by Friday.

Despite any shower activity, mostly cloudy skies will linger each afternoon.

Due to the breeze, the temperature trend will remain steady with morning lows in the lower to mid-70s, afternoon highs will trend in the lower to the mid-80s.

Regardless of the wind, these readings are the climatological norm for latter part of October.
