It is chilly! This morning temperatures have been in the low 60s throughout Broward County and the mid-60s in Miami-Dade -- a crisp and refreshing start to Saturday!

It’ll be a comfortable and warm in the afternoon with highs in the low 80s.

There are high rip current dangers today as the wind picks up and shifts to become more easterly.

Otherwise, coastal flooding is possible with high tide as we are in a king tide cycle with the full moon that happened last night. Standing water is possible with high tide and it’s not advisable to drive through the salt water.

Tonight, another comfortable evening is expected with morning temperatures returning to the upper 60s and low 70s.

We are in a dry pattern for the next several days.

Each day is slightly warmer than the day before, but we should keep high temps in the low 80s and overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The next cold front arrives later next week and this could even drop our morning temps even more than this round!

The Tropics

Tropical Storm Sara is still bringing dangerous flooding rain to Honduras.

Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala and western Nicaragua along with the Yucatan are expected to see life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides with 12” to 30” of rainfall. Tropical Storm Warnings remain in effect for these areas.

As of 7 a.m., TS Sara is stationary and rain is the main threat as extreme flooding is ongoing.

This system will continue to meander through these area all weekend. The slow movement will allow the land friction to weaken it before it moves into the Gulf of Mexico.

Even if it does move into the Gulf, there are hostile conditions from the upper level winds and cooler waters closer to the US that the storm isn’t forecasted to strengthen again at this time.
