Expect a windy weather pattern across South Florida and the Keys over the next few days as Tropical Storm Rafael cranks up in the Caribbean.
With high pressure building across the western Atlantic and the 17th named storm of the season tracking south of Florida, winds will increase for the entire region.
Gusts from 30-35 mph should be expected Tuesday and Wednesday as the system, moves through western Cuba mid-week.
In the Florida Keys, wind gusts to 50 mph will be possible into the wee hours of Thursday morning.

In addition to the wind, passing downpours remain in the forecast through Thursday with a high risk for rip currents likely to remain in play through Friday.
By Friday, the pattern settles a bit with more sunshine and fewer showers expected through Sunday.
