We enjoyed two very nice days on Wednesday and Thursday. While it was certainly hot, the humidity came down just enough to make it tolerable.

But tropical moisture, both in the form of humidity and rain, will surge into the area. Friday will be wetter than the last few days, but most of the widespread rain (50% coverage) will be late morning and early to mid-afternoon. The exception is the Keys, which remain wet tonight and Friday morning.

Saturday’s rain chances are at about 40% and no doubt it will be the better half of the weekend with more rain south and much drier weather north. But Sunday will get quite wet, especially in the afternoon, followed by even wetter days on Monday and Tuesday.

This is all being caused by a system that may or may not actually develop (chances are up to 40%) but allows us to get into the tropical moisture regardless. But this is not, in any way, not even slightly close to anything we saw as Helene was developing last week. If this system does develop, it won’t have a chance to explode. And if the system doesn’t develop, then it’s rain and nothing else.

TONIGHT: Scattered Keys storms. Rain: 30% toward daybreak. Low: 80°.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy. Scattered midday/afternoon storms. Rain: 50%. High: 90°.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Scattered storms, especially south. Rain: 40%> High: 89°.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Rain likely. Rain: 60%. High: 88°.
