Meteorologist Ryan Phillips has the latest forecast Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.

The week continues to deliver warm, bright and mainly dry conditions to South Florida as high pressure persists across the southwest Atlantic.

The trend will hold for Thursday, when only one or two afternoon storms are possible.

Expect the day’s highs to climb into the lower 90s for another day before a pattern change begins.

By Friday, carrying well through the weekend, a gradual increase of tropical moisture is expected to move into the area, fueling higher rain chances well into next week.

While the Gulf of Mexico is monitored for any potential tropical development, the National Hurricane Center is giving it only a 30 % chance for development over the next seven days.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, hot and bright. Highs near 91.

Friday: Partly cloudy, scattered showers and storms. Highs near 90.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, scattered showers and storms Highs near 89.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, storms likely. Highs near 88.
