Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on southbound Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale early Friday.

WATCH HEREOfficials said the pedestrian, an unidentified female, was crossing the express lane when she was struck by a Toyota Rav 4. The female was killed at the scene.
Video from the scene showed a yellow tarp covering what appeared to be a body on the roadway. A damaged SUV could also be seen, with an impacted front windshield and hood.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale, stopped at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
