Hanukkah

President Joe Biden is hosting a White House reception to mark Hanukkah, celebrating the holiday as he has continued to denounce rising antisemitism in the U.S. and abroad amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

They are neighbors from a devastated kibbutz in Israel, and now they’ve traveled together to South Florida, determined to talk to anyone who will listen about their experience. 

NBC6’s Ari Odzer is live from Hollywood where many families are having a somber Hanukkah amid the crisis in Israel.

For eight nights in November or December every year, the Jewish holiday Hanukkah is celebrated across the world – bringing friends and family together through tradition to commemorate Judaism’s deep history. 

In the days leading up to Hanukkah, more than 150 bags filled with handmade cards, nonperishable food and Hanukkah gelt are being delivered to seniors and Holocaust survivors throughout Broward County.
