Miami Beach Police To Test ‘Less-Than-Lethal' Restraint Device

The Miami Beach Police Department is testing out the BolaWrap100, a restraint device that discharges an 8-foot rope that can entangle someone at a range of 10-25 feet. Miami Beach Police Chief Daniel Oates says the department will be testing the device, describing it as a “less-than-lethal” option to restrain an emotionally disturbed person.
