Florida softball sophomore Kelly Barnhill was recognized as the Best Female Collegiate Athlete at the ESPYs in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Barnhill is the first player in UF program history to receive an ESPY.
The Marietta, Georgia, native helped the Gators reach the Women’s College World Series, posting a 0.51 ERA and 13 strikeouts per nine innings.
Barnhill was recognized as the SEC Pitcher of the Year and espnW Player of the Year this season.
