The Miami Hurricanes will be short-handed once again when they travel to take on Florida State in Tallahassee Saturday. UM coach Al Golden said Wednesday safety Ray Ray Armstrong will be suspended for a violation of team rules.
"We're still trying to learn about the circumstance with Ray-Ray, but he's been suspended for violating team rules," Golden said on his weekly radio segment on WQAM's Hurricane Hotline.
"It's a violation of team policy -- what we term conduct detrimental. He won't be with us and we'll reevaluate when we come back from Tallahassee."
Armstrong's suspension likely stemmed from a tweet he issued after having dinner with president of Double Coverage PR Group Ari Washington on Sunday.
"Just left Prime 112 wit @arinicolelife never seen a chicken this big," he tweeted. The tweet included a photo of his meal, but he deleted the tweet soon thereafter.
This is Armstrong's second suspension this season. He missed the first four games for his involvement with disgraced booster Nevin Shapiro.
With UM still under investigation for the Shapiro affair, the school is being doubly careful about any behavior that even looks improper. Dinner at a popular Miami Beach restaurant with the president of a PR firm certainly counts as that.

Golden's statement calls into question whether Armstrong will be reinstated for Miami's final two games against Boston College and South Florida.
In the five games he has played this year, Armstrong has amassed 25 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. JoJo Nicholas will start in Armstrong's place. He had been playing cornerback since Armstrong returned from his first suspension, but started the first four games of the season at safety alongside.
