Ancient Replica of Mythical Tomb Discovered in Egypt

An ancient replica of the mythical tomb of Osiris, the Egyptian god of the dead, was discovered among Egyptian ruins dating back over 2,500 years, a Spanish-Italian archaeological team announced this week. The multi-level structure, which descends deep underground, incorporates a temple, a large hall, and a funerary chamber featuring reliefs of guardian demons brandishing knives. Based on the tomb's architectural similarities to another known Osiris tomb in Abydos, Egypt, this recent find was likely built sometime between 750 B.C. and 525 B.C.
