4 Orphaned Bear Cubs Relocated Until Old Enough to Live in Wild
Four orphaned bear cubs have a new temporary home at a Nevada animal refuge, after their mother died. They are too young to survive on their own, so they are being looked after until they mature. “Next year, after the cubs have grown enough, they’ll be put into hibernation and [released] into an artificial den,” said Chris Healy of the Nevada Department of Wildlife. “They will emerge next spring, and they’ll be on their own and hopefully wild bears.”
