A woman was arrested on Monday after being accused of burglarizing an officer's apartment in Miami-Dade County and stealing their car, deputies said.
Andrea Assaf, 27, was charged with grand theft of a vehicle and battery of a police officer.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, on Sunday night, deputies arrived at an apartment complex in the area of 72nd Avenue and Southwest 82nd Street after receiving reports that a City of Miami Police officer's apartment was burglarized and their car was stolen

An arrest report said Assaf is a leasing agent who works at Dadeland and lives in the same apartment building as the officer.
Although the two do not live together, Assaf was able to gain access to the officer's apartment by using a key fob, the report said.
On Sunday, Assaf and the officer went to grab drinks together. After that, the officer dropped Assaf entered the officer's home and grabbed the keys to his unmarked police vehicle, the report said.

After taking the vehicle, Assaf sent the officer a picture of herself driving the car and he told her to return it, the report said.
Assaf went back to the building and the officer went to her apartment to get his case back.
Once at her apartment, she threw the officer's keys on the floor and threw her phone at his head, which caused a small laceration, the report said.
During an investigation, the officer told deputies he didn't give Assaf permission to go into his home that night and did not allow her to drive his unmarked vehicle.
The report said that the officer and Assaf were romantically involved but were not a couple.
Assaf later confessed to entering the officer's apartment and taking his vehicle's keys, police said.
She was arrested and booked into jail.
