Neighbors said the woman was shot multiple times by a man in the parking lot. They believe the two had been in a relationship and had been seen arguing before.

"I’ve seen them argue a couple times, and that’s it but we never expected this to happen," Cheryl Chung said. "And what I’ve heard is that he raced her down, he followed her down and she got out of the car and started running, but I believe he had a big gun and he opened like eight shots.”

Police later confirmed that 28-year-old Saivon Cruse, of Miami Gardens, was arrested in the shooting.

Cruse will face charges including attempted first-degree murder, possessing a gun as a convicted felon, and shooting into an occupied car, police said.

Officials didn't confirm Cruse's connection to the woman.
