A woman was killed after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in Miami, police said.
The incident happened as the woman was walking in the area of Brickell Bay Drive and 8th Street.

The victim, identified as 52-year-old Ana Mares, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes said.
She later died from her injuries.
Police haven't given a description of the suspect but said they are investigating the incident. No other information was immediately known.
