Video shows how a woman allegedly tried to carjack a couple right in front of Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, and police say she had tried to carjack another vehicle before.
Police said they were notified at 6:08 p.m. that a carjacker had tried to move a couple from their red sedan.

During the struggle, the car also struck a pole, authorities said.

They said one of the victims suffered a scratch during the incident.

"After further on scene investigation, it was determined the suspect attempted to take two different vehicles from near the entrance of BHMC. One of the vehicles was occupied and that is when the altercation ensued," police said.
McGriff is charged with robbery/carjacking, two counts battery on a person 65 or older, grand theft auto, resisting officers without violence and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
In a statement, Broward Health said: “We are aware of an incident involving visitors to one of our facilities. The safety of our patients and visitors is a top priority. We are cooperating with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department in their investigation.”
