All lanes of Interstate 75 have reopened following a series of accidents that left one person dead and snarled rush hour traffic in Davie Friday Morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a tractor trailer driver was apparently trying to walk across the interstate after his truck was involved in a crash around 6 a.m.
The initial accident happened on southbound I-75 when one truck hit another rig and jackknifed near Griffin Road. Authorities say they don't know why the driver, whose name hasn't been released, left the rig and crossed the road.
Officials said the driver of the car that hit the trucker was not injured and will not face charges. The second truck driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
