Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the truck may have lost control somehow and crashed into a stop sign before it went into the bay.

Miami Shores Chief of Police Kevin Lystad said the driver told authorities he'd hit a tree two blocks away before he plunged into the water. Lystad said an equipment failure or possible medical condition prevented the truck from stopping.

Officials said no one was injured.
