Two Killed in Violent Head-On Crash on I-75

Truck driving wrong way collides with car, two men dead: FHP

Two people were killed in a violent head-on crash on Interstate 75 in Pembroke Pines early Thursday.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes near the Sheridan Street exit around 1:30 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said the driver of a pickup truck was traveling in the wrong direction when he collided with a white Cadillac sedan head-on.

"After impacting, the pickup truck...burst into flames and struck the guard rail and the median," FHP Sgt. Richard Glass said.

Both men were killed at the scene. Officials said the pickup truck driver was from Zephyrhills, and the driver of the Cadillac was visiting from another country.

The crash shut down the northbound lanes of I-75 for nearly five hours. Glass said the FHP is still investigating the crash.
