Police said the shooting occurred during an anniversary celebration at Jaycee Hall, where an altercation reportedly took place before the gunfire erupted.

The hall manager and executive director said the family was celebrating a baby shower when the gunfire rang out.

"I just talked to the client who was having a baby shower, and she says when they were inside, they heard gunshots from outside, and the next thing they knew, police were all there and they said they have not been notified by any guests about anyone being hurt," manager Debra Gronvold said. "It wasn't a crazy party going on, it was just, they just had it set up like a baby shower."

The manager said the venue is changing their policies around security, requiring clients to hire off-duty security when parties run late and prohibiting firearms on the premises.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide and have identified several persons of interest. Hollywood Police said it appears that this was an isolated incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.
