"Well I’m glad the car was there because it stopped the car coming inside the house," she said. "I heard the sound and I came to the front, thinking that the accident was only here in the front but then my husband told me that there was a car in the backyard."
She said that car had three occupants, and that two of them were pronounced dead at the scene.
Martha and other neighbors described the sound of the impact like a bomb going off.
“It was extremely loud but we’re so used to hearing that sound from time to time," she said.
She said it's a very dangerous intersection and often times people speed through the street.
“I’m surprised they don’t have bumps or a four-way stop. It’s very dangerous," she said.
Detectives are investigating whether speeding was a factor in the crash.
