Swap Shop Founder Preston Henn Dies at 86

The founder of Fort Lauderdale’s Swap Shop flea market has died. Preston Henn died Sunday at age 86.

Preston Henn died Sunday at age 86, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Henn, a former auto racer, was a self-made millionaire who founded the 88-acre Swap Shop on West Sunrise Boulevard in 1963 first as a drive-in theater.

The Swap Shop now features some 2,000 vendors and is open 365 days a year.

Henn is survived by his wife, Betty, and four of their five children.
