Suspected Bal Harbour Gunman Arrested in Ohio

Federal Marshals burst into a home outside Columbus to arrest Ryan Hubbard

A suspect in the Tuesday shootings at a ritzy Bal Harbour shopping plaza has been arrested in suburban Ohio on two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Ryan Hubbard, 32, was taken into custudy in an affluent neighborhood in Dublin, a city outside of Columbus. Federal Marshals forcibly entered a home to make the capture.

The shooting started with a confrontation between two men, one allegedly Hubbard, in front of the Carpaccio Restaurant at 9700 Collins Ave. in the Bal Harbor Shops around 6:15 p.m., police said.

One of the men fired a shot at the other, hitting him in the leg. The same bullet or possibly a second shot hit a woman sitting at an outdoor dining table in the foot.

Both are expected to recover from their injuries.

Hubbard, who lists an address in Miami Gardens in court records, is on probation in Florida for cocaine trafficking, aggravated battery, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Authorities say the arrest was aided by the FBI and police departments in Bal Harbour, Miami Beach, Mirimar, and Coral Gables.
