Small plane crashes in Redland area of Miami-Dade County: FAA

Authorities discovered a single-engine Cessna 172 that crashed Saturday evening

The owner of the small plane that crashed in SW Miami-Dade is speaking out, as an FAA investigation gets underway.

A small plane went down in the Redland area of Miami-Dade County on Saturday evening, according to the FAA.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene near Southwest 248th Street and 217th Avenue, where they found a single-engine Cessna 172 that crashed.

Videos show the moments before and after the plane went down, as well as first responders arriving on scene.

At least two people were on board and they were both able to make it out of the plane without major injuries, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The plane's owner is PanAir Flying Club, located at the Miami Executive Airport. They told NBC6 that everybody is fine, and that there won’t be an official statement or any additional comment.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
