Police were investigating after a man was shot and killed outside the Fort Lauderdale Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Friday evening.
The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the VFW Post at 350 Southwest 25th Street.
Footage showed the man's body on the ground and officers had the parking lot closed off with police tape.
Fort Lauderdale Police said the man was a patron at the VFW and was standing outside in front of the building, when a masked suspect approached him and shot him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Police said they will not be providing any further details on the shooting at this time, and no information has been provided on the suspect or possible suspect vehicle.
Witnesses said they saw a vehicle drive up, heard gunshots and saw a man fall to the ground.
"I heard three gunshots, then all of a sudden, I saw the guy fall to the floor. He was in the middle of the parking lot out cold," Dyaln Myares explained. "Then there was a car that drove by, like fast, trying to get away."
"After hearing the shots, when I came out, I was definitely shocked in the situation that I saw," Scott Stimpson said.

Stimpson was inside the VFW when he heard the gunshots, "There was no life to him. I didn't have to check for a pulse. There was an exit wound outside of his back, and there was an exit wound out of the back of his head."
A coworker of the victim said they worked nearby and the VFW was a regular hangout.
"That's the bar that we usually go to after work because it's just down the street and it's a great bar. Of course when I don't go there, this stuff happens. Like wow. Just incredible," Olivier Reich expressed.
He said he can't believe anyone would kill his friend.
"An amazing guy. He would go above and beyond for anybody, just help anyone out," Reich said.
