Shooting in Miami Beach

Three shot in Miami Beach on Easter Sunday morning

It was supposed to be a morning of rebirth and redemption. But for three family members, the early hours of Easter Sunday were full of violence and terror.

A man, woman and 14-year-old girl were shot and wounded at 4 a.m. in a Miami Beach home. The victims were all rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and remain in critical and stable conditions.

The motive behind the shooting was apparently domestic violence. As the Miami Herald reports Detective Juan Sanchez, spokesman for Miami Beach police, said the girl ran to a neighbor’s home in the middle of the night claiming she and her mother had just been shot by her father.

Information on whether the father shot himself or the mother shot him in defense remains unconfirmed.

At this time Garden Avenue from 39th to 41st  Streets and 40th Street from North Meridian to Garden Avenue are closed for investigation.
