Authorities confirmed a man was taken into custody and another one is wanted in relation to the armed carjacking and homicide of 31-year-old Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas.

Jordanish Torres-Garcia, 28, was taken into custody just after noon Friday and has been identified as a person of interest in this investigation as his phone matches the phone number of the person who purchased the green Acura that was caught on video ramming into Katherine's white Dodge Durango, said Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma in a news conference Friday.

The green Acura was located last week and is likely linked to another murder, officials said.

During the news conference Jordanish's Facebook's profile picture was put side by side with a screen shot of the video of the armed carjacking. Both images looked "identical," according to authorities.

Jordanish, or as he goes by Jordan, is wanted for gun charges in Puerto Rico, according to Lemma. Telemundo Puerto Rico reported in 2022 that "the US Marshal is on the trail of Jordanish Torres García, who is considered highly dangerous."

Lemma went on to explain that Katherine's brother Luis and her husband Miguel had given up their phones for a forensic investigation and Luis was "actually, by his own words, conducting his own independent investigation."

According to Lemma, he did not contact law enforcement when he was conducting the investigation.

Lemma explained that Luis had reached out from a computer that he connected to an iPhone through an iCloud account to the contact he found of, who appeared to be the last person Katherine was in contact with.

According to Luis, he contacted the person now identified as Giovany Crespo Hernandez through his phone and screenshotted a picture of Giovany.

In his report, Luis told authorities that Crespo Hernandez told him that Katherine was there to deliver money and "other stuff to a friend."

Luis told authorities he did not know Crespo Hernandez previous to the call, said Lemma in the conference.

A search warrant was obtained for Giovanny's home at 1440 Guinevere Drive in Casselberry where he resides with his girlfriend, Monicsabel Romero Soto. During the execution of the search warrant, trafficking amounts of Fentanyl, money, and a firearm, not believed to be connected to the carjacking, were discovered, said authorities.

Crespo Hernandez is on the run and is wanted by the Sheriff's Office.

Lemma said that Katherine's husband and brother are not considered persons of interest at the moment and that they have been cooperating in this case.

He also explained that the direct connection between Jordanish and Katherine has not yet been established.

"So, to answer the question of why, if this is our shooter, why he would target her, I can't answer that question yet," said Lemma.
