A suspect was arrested after a man was found battered near the Palmetto Expressway in Hialeah Wednesday night, authorities said.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said troopers responded to a disturbance call shortly before 8 p.m. after the victim was battered on the entrance ramp to the northbound Palmetto from Northwest 122nd Street.
A perimeter was established and the suspect, 49-year-old Osmani Herrera, was found and taken into custody and later booked into jail.

The victim was treated at the scene.
Hialeah Police said the incident had initially been reported as a possible armed suspect.
