A pregnant woman was rushed to the hospital after she was shot outside a 7-Eleven store in northwest Miami-Dade early Thursday, officials said.
Miami-Dade Police said officers responded to the scene in the 9400 block of Northwest 17th Avenue in the West Little River Neighborhood after receiving calls of a person being shot around midnight.

Officers arrived and found the pregnant woman, who said she was sitting in the driver's seat of her car outside of the store when she felt the pain of being shot in the back and right leg.
The victim, who was not identified, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

Officers closed off the area for several hours as they gathered evidence at the scene.
Police did not release additional details on the shooting, including information on a possible suspect.
The incident remains under investigation.

The shooting happened on the same street as another shooting just a couple blocks away earlier this week. That shooting left a man dead and a woman hospitalized.
