Police investigating possible murder-suicide involving man and woman in Miami

Miami Police believe a man and woman were killed in a murder-suicide in Little Havana. NBC6’s Cherney Amhara reports

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide after two people were found unresponsive in Miami Wednesday night.

Miami Police officials said officers responded to the area of Northeast 1st Avenue and 59th Street in Little Haiti just after 8:30 p.m. after receiving a call of two unresponsive people, a man and a woman.

“The person that called just stated that they hadn’t been in contact with them, and out of curiosity, out of fear, they went inside and it was actually open," said Mike Vega of Miami Police.

The man and woman were found unresponsive with gunshot injuries. Miami Fire crews also responded to the scene, along with homicide detectives.

Police said Thursday that the incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Their identities were not released, but police believe they are between 25 to 35 years old.

“We believe that they’re are a couple, and we’ve talked to neighbors, tried to get more information, and we’re still in that investigation," Vega said.

Officials haven't released any other details on the incident but said they're trying to determine exactly what happened.
