Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and another hurt after gunfire erupted outside a Miramar Dunkin' Donuts early Tuesday.
Miramar police Sgt. Tiffany Roy said officers responded to several ShotSpotter alerts in the area of 6190 Miramar Parkway around 3:30 a.m.
Aerial footage showed several evidence markers outside the Dunkin' Donuts location at that address.
"When officers arrived on scene, they discovered shell casings in the parking lot. However, they were not able to locate any victims or involved vehicles," Roy said.

The sergeant said moments later, they received two 911 calls. One came from Memorial Regional Hospital, reporting of a man who had been shot. That victim was expected to survive.
The other call came from the 2200 block of State Road 7 and was also about a man who had been shot.
"We believe that [the shooting] occurred at the [6190 Miramar Parkway], and then from there the involved parties must have left. One ended up at the hospital, and the second victim... is at the 2200 block of State Road 7," Roy said.

Roy confirmed that that second man died.
His name was not immediately available, but family members who went to the scene were in anguish. According to relatives, the deceased man's wife fainted multiple times at the news, and had to be rushed to the hospital.
NBC6 cameras captured authorities setting up a barrier and investigating a dark-colored BMW at the scene on State Road 7.
