An investigation is underway in Miami after a man was fatally stabbed during an argument on a trolley Tuesday afternoon, police said. Videos show the chaotic scene after the stabbing and someone dressed in all black appearing to run away from the scene.

Video from a resident of a nearby high-rise showed people trying to help the victim who was on the ground next to the trolley.

Later in the video passengers are seen jumping out of the back of the trolley, and somebody dressed in all black appearing to run away from scene.

"This is just a very very rare occasion. The trolleys are safe, the bus systems are safe, this is a rare occasion and I guess it could have happened on the street, it could have happened anywhere else, just unfortunately it happened inside one of the trolleys that many people take on a daily basis," Cruz said. "I personally can you that I've never heard of a homicide happening on one of our trolleys."

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed the trolley in the middle of the roadway closed off by yellow crime scene tape. Multiple evidence markers were on the ground nearby, including one that was next to what appeared to be a knife.

Several people were on the trolley but no other injuries were reported.

"There were several people on the trolley but I can tell you that only one person was injured and unfortunately lost their life," Cruz said. "We want to know what the cause of this argument was, which makes no difference because at the end of the day someone's life was lost, so it's very disturbing."

The incident remains under investigation. No other details were immediately known.
