A passenger aboard a Royal Caribbean ship went overboard during a Taylor Swift-themed cruise, prompting search and rescue efforts, a company spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.
It happened aboard the Allure of the Seas, which departed from Miami and was en route to an island in the Bahamas, according to online vessel trackers.
The ship was about 17 miles from Nassau when the woman fell around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday.
“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort and is working with local authorities. We are also providing support and assistance to the guest's family during this difficult time," a Royal Caribbean spokesperson said.

The U.S. Coast Guard was assisting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the search. It was not immediately clear if the operation was successful or how long it could take.
A few hundred Swifties left Monday from Miami on Allure of the Seas as part of a fan-led cruise group fittingly named "In my cruise era."
It's not clear if the woman who went overboard was a part of the group.
