A portion of Dadeland Mall was evacuated and a bomb squad was called in after a suspicious item was discovered near a parking area Sunday morning, Miami-Dade Police said.
The item was discovered at 7535 North Kendall Drive and the immediate area was evacuated, Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Roy Rutland said.
The Miami-Dade Police Bomb Squad was called in to examine the item and later deemed it safe.
The closed area was reopened to the public.
No other information was immediately available.
