The head-butt by a Boston butthead is OK in the eyes of the NBA.
The Celtics' Paul Pierce won't be suspended for his fourth quarter antics in Sunday's Game 1 versus the Miami Heat in which he forcibly placed his head in the face of Heat forward James Jones, who was lighting Boston up from behind the arc.
The NBA said Monday they would take no further action against the C's captain.
The NBA apparently believes the wrestling move wasn't malicious enough to warrant a suspension (and it probably wouldn't have been good for TV ratings, either).
Pierce, who was ejected after receiving his second technical foul moments later , said Monday he was disappointed in himself for not keeping his composure.
He should be thanking his green clovers he isn't on the bench for Game 2.
In the opening round series between Atlanta and Orlando. Hawks center Zaza Pachulia was suspended a game for head-butting the Magic's Jason Richardson in Game 4.

While the infraction appears to be the same, Pierce is more valuable than Pachulia. So Boston's bad boy gets to play.
Maybe the NBA ruled Pierce's head isn't as hard as previously believed.
