Naked Sausage Stealer Caught on Tape

What do $15 worth of sausage, a first-aid kit and a pack of napkins have in common?

Those are the items a naked man who broke into a Southwest Florida club house determined were worth stealing.

Joshua Ryan Abernathy, 34, faces burglary and petty theft charges for the January sausage heist over in Estero, near Fort Myers, according to naplesnews.com.

Abernathy was caught on surveillance video prancing around in his birthday suit inside the Mariner's Cove Club House in the Jan. 7 incident after getting in through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Though he was wearing shorts when he entered the club, it's believed Abernathy took a shower inside and decided to air-dry.

When an employee got to the club the next day, he realized the sausage was missing from the refrigerator. Also missing was the $25 first-aid kit and $5 pack of napkins.

When the security footage was reviewed, the employee recognized the suspect as a man who hangs around in the woods behind the club and had been previously told to leave the area near the club.

A detective recognized him as Abernathy, and police arrested him on Jan. 19.

Abernathy was also charged with occupied burglary and grand theft for an incident at a home in December. Police say in that incident he broke into a garage and stole several bottles of alcohol and beer and a Mongoose bicycle.

It's unknown whether he was nude for that break-in as well.
