Arson attack sparked multi-car fire in Miami neighborhood: Police

Witnesses said a total of five cars were damaged, including two that were completely destroyed

A fire that destroyed multiple cars in a Miami neighborhood is being investigated as arson.

Police are investigating an apparent arson after neighbors woke up to find multiple cars on fire in Miami's Little River neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The incident happened in the 40 block of Northwest 76th Street, according to Miami Fire Rescue.

Witnesses said a total of five cars were damaged, including two that were completely destroyed.

"My child’s car was burned, part of it was burned," one resident told NBC6. "The car is a total loss."

No injuries were reported and residents are grateful the flames didn't spread any further.

Miami Police said later Wednesday morning that the initial fire was intentionally set on one vehicle, before spreading to several others nearby.

"I realized the house could have caught fire too and I would have been in the fire," another resident said. "I was shocked. But, I can’t explain what happened."

Two of the cars belonged to one family.

"My dog was barking and I heard knocking on the door and I came outside and both of my mom's cars were on fire," one resident said.

Police have not released any information on a possible suspect
