Foul Play Suspected in Disappearance of Mother, Daughter: Doral Police

Doral Police said they suspect foul play in the case of a missing mother and her 8-year-old daughter. Police now need your help to find them.

According to investigators, the victim's sister said she has not been able to contact 43-year-old Liliana Moreno for the past two days.

Police went to her home to check if she was okay, but they found that no one was home. After investigating, they found that Moreno left her wallet in her apartment, and that she left her apartment in a rush. Her car was also at the home.

Officials said her daughter, Daniela, was not in school Friday or Tuesday.

Police said due to the fact that they haven't had any contact with the Moreno's, they now suspect foul play was involved.

Yamilet Moreno, Liliana's sister, said Liliana is always in touch with her family and it's not normal they have not heard from her in several days.

Miami-Dade Police confirmed there was an active investigation underway Wednesday connected to the missing mother and daughter at a warehouse location in the 10600 block of Northwest 123rd Street in Medley.

Police haven't said what led them to the location or if anything has been found. However, multiple sources said Daniela's father works at the warehouse.

Investigators searched through a dumpster for evidence and then towed it from the scene.

The investigation later led officers to a wooded area near Northwest 138th Street and 107th Avenue. But, police suspended the search there a short time later.

The MDPD Homicide Bureau is working with Doral Police to investigate the case.

"We're talking about a 8-year-old girl and if Miami-Dade County can't come together for that, it's sad. But I think someone is going to come through with information," said Det. Alvaro Zabaleta with MDPD.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Liliana or Daniela, you’re urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
