Police scouring a Miramar lake Friday morning said they are searching for clues related to an ongoing investigation.
It is unknown, however, whether the dive team operation is related to the unsolved disappearance of Vilet Torrez, a Miramar mother of three who disappeared more than a month ago.
Friday’s search began around 11:30 a.m. along a lake located near the 12000 Block of Miramar Parkway, authorities said.
Miramar Police previously combed the waterways in the area of Torrez’s home looking for clues into the missing woman’s whereabouts, sources told NBC 6. Police, though, did not confirm they were officially searching for Torrez.
Torrez, 38, was reported missing by her estranged husband, Cid Torrez, who was also named a person of interest in the case.
Police said they suspect foul play in the disappearance.
No further information was released.
