Migrating Sharks Seen Again Off Deerfield Beach

Sharks have been spotted numerous times in recent weeks

Dozens of sharks were seen Tuesday in the waters off Deerfield Beach, near the line with Hillsboro Beach. Veronica Evans and Tom Evans, who are vacationing in South Florida with their family from Virginia, spoke about it.

Migrating sharks were spotted again in the waters off Deerfield Beach Tuesday – this time near the line with Hillsboro Beach.

Aerial footage showed dozens of sharks in the ocean. The school of sharks swam just feet from some paddle boarders.

"I guess I didn't realize they'd be so close, but it's not very often that shark attacks happen," said beachgoer Veronica Evans, who is vacationing in South Florida with her family from Virginia.

Thousands of sharks have been seen along South Florida’s coastline in recent weeks, with some beaches closed down at times to swimmers.

Recent sightings have turned up breeds of sharks known as spinners and blacktips, and they're known to travel by the hundreds – sometimes more.
