Police are investigating a shooting in a southwest Miami-Dade neighborhood that left a man dead outside his home Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the area of 22357 Southwest 119th Avenue in Goulds.
Miami-Dade Police said officers responded to the area for a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital South where he died from his injuries.

Police identified the victim as 29-year-old James Darnell Jerome Dukes, who lives at the home where the shooting happened.
"The victim, James Darnell Jerome Dukes lives at this residence and was outside with some friends and acquaintances when an unknown male subject arrived here on scene, produced a firearm, fired multiple shots in Mr. Dukes' direction and then fled the scene on foot," Miami-Dade Police Det. Andre Martin said.
Police said no one else was injured in the shooting.

Patricia Dean said her daughter lived at the home with Dukes but she didn't really know him.
"I don't know what to think, my mind is racing right now," Dean said.
Police said they don't have many details about the gunman but they're hoping someone will information will come forward.
"We know for a fact that multiple people witnessed this horrific crime that took Mr. Dukes' life," Martin said. "We are asking the community to help us help you... help us solve this horrific crime."
The shooting remains under investigation.
