Man Killed in Shooting at His Hollywood Tint Shop: Police

Loved ones were left devastated after a beloved business owner was shot and killed. NBC 6’s Kim Wynne reports

Police are investigating a shooting at a Hollywood business that left one man dead Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened around 10:45 a.m. at Flex Tint Shop in the 5800 block of Rodman Street, Hollywood Police officials said.

"It just sounded like four or five gunshots, but we kind of brushed it off because this is a mechanic area," a witness said. "We did not realize anything, and then came out to ask my boss something and then we noticed all of the cop cars."

Officers who responded to the scene rendered aid to the victim, who was brought to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Family members and people who work nearby identified the victim as Michael Fletcher, also known as "Flex."

"He's a good person with a good heart and a kind heart," said Barbara Malcolm, a friend of the victim.

Malcolm said Fletcher and his wife served the community and said anyone who was hungry could go to Flex for a plate of food.

Officials said they're investigating what led up to the shooting and trying to gather information on a possible suspect.

No other information was immediately known.
