Father Found Shot to Death at Housing Complex in SW Miami-Dade

Family members identified the victim as Elvis Hart, a father of three

Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in the doorway of a southwest Miami-Dade home early Thursday.

Miami-Dade Police officers arrived at the scene at a housing complex at 11395 Southwest 216th Street just before 2 a.m. after reports of a shooting in the area.

Officers found the body of a man who'd been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members identified the victim as 38-year-old Elvis Hart, a father of three.

"Elvis is dead," his mother said. "No one should be in my shoes right now."

Hart was described as a "loving guy" whose youngest kid is 4 years old.

“I got so… I was so upset," said his aunt. “He was a good kid, a good kid.”
