A man was fatally shot and another was arrested after a shooting in Pompano Beach just before sunrise on Thanksgiving Day.
Rodnel Toussaint, 30, was fatally shot by Raymond Joseph, 27, after a fight, which escalated, authorities said. Toussaint was taken to Broward Health North but was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m.
Joseph faces a second-degree murder charge.
When deputies arrived at 900 northwest 8th Avenue in Pompano beach, they found Toussaint laying on the pavement with injuries and Joseph kneeling at his side.
Investigators later tracked at least one suspect gunman to the site of the blood-splattered car on 4th Avenue.
A woman who did not want to identify herself said she knew the victim, and knows his killer too.
“I was sad,” she said. “Devastated that it happened. On both ends.”
