A spokesman for Regalado said Thursday that Loureiro's mother is the third cousin to Regalado's father.
According to police, Loureiro was swerving in his Hyundai Accent and driving erratically when he was pulled over by police. He had "blood shot eyes, flushed face, slurred speech and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath," the officer wrote in his report.
As cops waited for back up, Loureiro reached into his pocket and dropped a tissue paper on the ground and tried to walk away from it, the report stated.
An officer picked it up and inside was a small plastic bag with cocaine in it, police said.
