After being slapped with a code violation, a resident of Southwest Ranches was given an ultimat-ham by town officials: get rid of your pig, or move.
Rob Faulk is moving.
The pig, he says, is part of the family, "like one of our children."
Council members, however, haven't possessed such a warm familial feeling. They cited the the Faulks' landlord back in July, because 300-pound Strawberry, a Yorkshire, doesn't fit within the town's one-Vietnamese-pot-bellied-per-household rule. Councilmen fear she'll grow bigger and eventually sport tusks, and they say it like it's a bad thing -- clearly failing to realize that a massive, tusked Strawberry would be totally awesome.
The Faulks have 30 days to move, which they might be able to extend by acquiring a spider who can spell "SOME PIG."
