The luxury iPic theater chain will soon be expanding to Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
The Boca Raton-based company announced plans to build its new location under an agreement with Tuck Hospitality Group Restaurants in an effort to bring more entertainment, shopping, dining, and luxury residential opportunities to the area.
The new 400-seat dine-in theater will be accompanied by a City Perch Kitchen + Bar, including a 4,200 square foot rooftop bar.
The intimate theater chain is known for its fully reclining leather seating Pods that include courtesy personal pillows and blankets. The chain is also known for its “ninja-like servers,” who deliver food to guests in the dark at the push of a button.
In addition to watching Hollywood blockbuster films in eight auditoriums equipped with 4K digital cinema technology, guests can also enjoy alternative entertainment including magic and comedy shows and gaming competitions.
Developers say the new mixed-use project will also bring 150,000 square feet of combined retail and boutique office space and up to 180 luxury apartments to the area located at 601 N. Federal Highway.
“Downtown Fort Lauderdale will continue to evolve into a more vibrant and true live, work, play destination,” says iPic® CEO and Fort Lauderdale resident Hamid Hashemi.
Local
Located on Federal Highway between Broward and Sunrise boulevards, the dine-in theater will serve as the staple tenant for the “dynamic and transformative” development and is expected to open Fall 2020.
