There is still one Miami football team that can reach the pinnacle of its league.
The Miami Caliente could be the host team at Lingerie Bowl VII, which will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood on Feb. 6, according to the official Lingerie Bowl website.
Tickets went on sale today and will be televised during halftime of the NFL's Super Bowl on Feb. 7, which no football fan in South Florida should care about after Sunday's terrible events.
For Dolfans, the Phins' lackluster effort was a bummer, but seeing female athletes in bras and panties battle over a football is a pretty good consolation prize, we think. Think of it as a constant replay of Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.
Even if Miami doesn't make the Lingerie Bowl, we'd say it was a good replacement for the Dolphins not making the postseason. The girls can really play, and play hard.
The Caliente are still fighting for the Eastern Conference berth into the Big, Naked Game. At 2-1, Miami would have to beat Tampa Freeze at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise on Jan. 22 and then travel to face the Chicago Bliss for the right to make the title game.
