Lauderhill Teen Found Shot to Death

19-year old's uncle finds dead body in the entrance of home: Police

Normal 0 Lauderhill Police are investigating the death of a teen whose body was discovered inside the doorway of his home by his uncle Thursday morning.

The gruesome discovery was made around 7:20 a.m. in the 7000 block of Sienna Ridge Lane, police said.

Although the 19-year-old appeared to suffer from a gunshot wound, police say no one heard gunshots.

"The mother was home asleep in an upstairs bedroom," said Lauderhill Police Capt. Rick Rocco. "Preliminary information is no one heard any gunshots last night, so we don't know what time this occurred, what the circumstances are."

No weapon has been recovered, but police say the weapon may be under the deceased body which has yet to be removed.

Police are investigating whether the teen shot himself or was shot by someone else.

"At this point we don't know whether it is a homicide or if it's a potential suicide," Rocco said.
