Police pursuit ends with 2 teens in custody after they allegedly stole Cadillac Escalade from Miami home

Images from Chopper 6 show a large police presence in a Hialeah neighborhood.

Police have taken two men into custody in connection to a car that was stolen in Miami.

According to Hialeah Police, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding a stolen car.

The victim, who was actively pursuing the stolen car, was in contact with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), which provided updates on the direction of travel, police said.

The chase ended when the stolen car, a black 2024 Cadillac Escalade, was abandoned by four men at W 14 Avenue and W 39 Place in Hialeah.

The victim reported that the vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of his home, located in the 11000 block of Westwood Lake Drive in Miami.

Video captured early Monday morning by Chopper 6 showed the Cadillac with its doors wide open as officers surrounded it.

Police officers established a perimeter to contain the suspects and safeguard the area.

Two of the four men were detained and have since been identified by police as 19-year-olds Jakari Ford and Rakeem Hughey.
